Ever at the Ready [03 Mar 2008|09:18am] - Mod Journal - RP Comm - OOC Comm - Graphics - - Plot - Rules - Character List - Played-Bys - Team Info - Apply - - Contacts (F-Lock) - Advertise (F-Lock) - So we all know that Captain Jack Harkness runs Torchwood Three, that Torchwood One was destroyed in the Battle of Canary Wharf, that Torchwood Two is headed by "a very strange man" and that Torchwood Four is currently misplaced. Well that's all fine and dandy, but things are about to start changing. Torchwood One is reopening just outside of London and is now known as Torchwood 1.1 and Torchwood Two's leader has been replaced. Torchwood Three of course isn't any different, with the exception that Jack has been missing for a bit. The big thing is that Torchwood Four is back on the map, headed by the same person it had been before it was 'misplaced'. It seems Torchwood Four, headed by one Major Charlie Sheppard, had a minor malfunction involving Cardiff's rift. In fact, Torchwood Four is located right near Torchwood Three, or at least it was until it and its team got pulled into another universe. Which is where Lucian Devereaux comes in. It seems that he got a hold of a Time Agent's vortex manipulator in the far future and has been using it at his own pleasure. Well, until it backfired and he was sent to the present and made the rift flux, sucking Torchwood Four into it. Luckily, Major Sheppard wasn't there at the time. Now as for Lucian, he'd been jumping through time randomly and unwillingly as he tried to fix the vortex manipulator. During this time he realized that he'd jump from the present in Cardiff to some different point in time and then back. Along the way, he managed to bring back people with him who shouldn't be during that time, and that caused the rift to go haywire, also bringing people to the present that shouldn't be there: those that are dead, those who aren't born yet, and those in other dimensions. And so, Torchwood realized they needed to work extra hard to try and stop this and thus re-established Torchwood Four, somehow convincing Charlie to head it once more. And that is where we begin... Ever at the ready is a Torchwood/Doctor Who RP that allows for any character from either series (old and new) to be incorporated, as well as original characters! It takes place around the start of season two. We've only just started and we're looking for a majority of the canon cast still, including The Doctor (any of them) and most of Torchwood Three. We're also looking for bad guys and aliens to be hunted down, as well as people to fill up the other Torchwood Teams. If you think you're ready, then we're ready to have you join the team! [03 Mar 2008|11:02am] ~strings there are just too many hp games out there that die because of inactivity. why do they go inactive? maybe because they lack freedom, plotting, or the boy who lived. in short, strings is a different kind of hp game. we are epilogue, but we don't have a strict policy as to following canon. talk to us! we're very reasonable people. over the years, most of us have grown to love our characters, no matter who you play. strings has a variety of characters, all of whom are the babies of our babies. if you loved playing pansy parkinson, how about giving amelia flint, her daughter a chance? michael corner? mike's got three boys, for you! so many characters have been pigeon-holded (good guy, bad guy) in the hp rp world and strings wants to break free from this. do what you want with your own character. the game is called strings because somehow or another, everyone is connected in the world. it might take 26 different degrees of connections, but a always goes to z. the game is relationship centered. there are no dark plot lines that cause every other person to die or anything like that. we're here for development and there is no better way to get into your character's head than to play them! various elements have been changed. if you are a die-hard canon fan, this game might not be for you. we didn't like rowling's epilogue. sorry, loves! characters ♦ families ♦ visuals ♦ pbs ♦ application faq ♦ drop box ♦ friend all ♦ classes & activities contact list ♦ birthdays gryffindors needed!! post comment

They found themselves in a world on the brink of war. Upon entering the school, some were taking their first steps into a magical world that was completely foreign to them. Others had lived in it all their lives and were about to leave the safety of Hogwarts to see what the world had in store for them. How will these students react to the world that is constantly changing around them? Who will they become and what roles will they take up as the times shift? It is in their power to answer these questions. We know a little of what they will do outside of Hogwarts. Let's see how they got there. [03 Mar 2008|06:16pm] MOD RPG OOC AU BACKSTORY CHARACTERS RULES APPLICATION PBs INFO BUTTON CONTACTS When the Dark Lord Voldemort died, he released a wave of magic. A sort of magic no one had record of, intensely powerful and with incredible ability and desire to correct the mistakes of the past and to punish those that had made them. He hoped to send himself into his body from twenty years earlier - which he did successfully. The brain of the Dark Lord in December, 1976 was suddenly filled with knowledge from the following twenty years. Sufficient knowledge, in fact, to attempt to kill Harry Potter and his friends one last time. Knowledge that put him at a great advantage over all the others in the time period. Or so he thought. Though intelligent and meticulous, the magic pouring forth from Lord Voldemort at the time of his death was uncontrolled and went in all directions. Adults were hit, including the recently deceased and nearly dead, sending their souls spiraling back in time. Even this would have been below Voldemort's radar, he would have found the knowledge of others unimportant compared to his own, and thus having his followers by his side would help him little. What he didn't expect was an added blessing - young people of Harry's generation were pulled back in time right along with him. Unlike the adults, however, who had an existing body to land in, the children of his time appeared seemingly from nowhere. There was no explanation for the students to appear in this way - sprawled across the grounds outside of Hogwarts Castle, in varying states of injury and disarray. Dumbledore took them in and immediately their tale was told. It was winter holidays, so many of the students from Hogwarts had already gone home, leaving the castle largely empty. The few stragglers witnessed the arrival of these new students, but they were quickly silenced while Dumbledore helped Harry and his friends come up with a cover story. They would claim to be homeschooled students, and would be given pseudonyms. The story would be that Hogwarts was opening its doors for the first time ever to late admittances, on account of the increasing danger that witches and wizards were facing in the world. They were, under no circumstances, to tell anyone what their true story was. Secrecy was key. They didn't know how or why they'd been sent back in time, but it was obvious the level of danger they faced if they weren't careful. Of course, Voldemort would not be fooled for long... and he had a whole new agenda this time around, with Harry Potter at the center of it. Began: December 20th, 2007! post comment

The changes began with merely a shift in atmosphere, a cold graveness that pervaded the castle and a new, mandatory class in Muggle Studies. As the sixth and seventh years began a new year, they must prepare not only to pass their NEWTs, but to curse disobedient first years in Defense Against the Dark Arts, glorify the superiority of wizardkind in Muggle Studies, be punished for dissent written in their private letters, and, most importantly, to stand up and fight against a new, Death Eater-controlled administration. Now returning from their winter holidays, the atmosphere of the school has grown even more grim. Luna Lovegood disappered when the train landed in London several weeks ago. The meals at Hogwarts will now be segregated according to blood purity (and obedience to the Carrows, in the case of mudblood-lovers). The practical work in the Dark Arts classes will grow even more evil, with the students order to practice hexes and curses against fellow students. Dumbledore's Army will begin to recruit, and the lines of loyalties will be drawn darker as push comes to shove, and everyone must take a side. ---------- This is a seventh year trio era Deathly Hallows-compliant game that has just entered JANUARY 1998. THIS IS A GAME THAT WILL BE PLAYED TO THE LAST BATTLE. Please be advised that the cast list is complete. It's the beginning of the end and I know that I am all alone.” - Spineshank Beginning of the end A city lies behind a great wall, seemingly empty but this isn’t any ordinary city. It is Ash Valley, a city owned by the Umbrella Corporation and used for experimentation. It resembles Raccoon city in structure but unlike Raccoon city, Ash Valley is unpopulated…at the moment. This soon changes as the Umbrella Corporation begins their most complex experiment. With their most advanced technology and highly trained agents, the corporation begins rounding up people to begin their experimentations. Some of these people are your average every day Joes, some of them are supernatural creatures, some of them aren’t even from this time or this world. They are all gathered together and left in Ash Valley. Why? So that the Umbrella Corporation can observe and experiment on them but these test subjects aren’t alone. Bodies infected with the T-virus have also been placed in the city. Here are the facts: Stuff you need to know for the game +The Umbrella Corporation has brought you to a city called Ash Valley using various means. You might not remember the exact who and how but what you do remember is a group of agents dressed in black capturing you and injected a red liquid into your arm, knocking you out. When you wake up you find yourself in the center of the city. +Ash Valley appears deserted at first but you’ll quickly learn that there are others in the city much like yourself, kidnapped and dropped here without any reason. These people will be from all walks of life and from various times and places in history. Some of them are heroes, some of them are killers, and some of them are just confused. +There are other creatures within Ash Valley as well. These are Zombies. There are not a huge number of them but there’s enough to cause trouble. + Throughout your stay in Ash Valley the Umbrella Corporation will be experimenting on you and generally fucking with you…all in the name of science of course. +Your goal? To stay alive as long as possible but the city is dangerous and the people around even more so. You cannot trust anything or anyone here so thread lightly. [03 Mar 2008|10:53pm] Prague. A wonderful city, beautiful in all of it's splendor. Though what the general public doesn't know... can hurt them. In the heart of the beautiful city lies the true nature. Vampires, werewolves, necromancers, and shapeshifters, not to mention a whole bunch more of other species, that clearly aren't human any longer. They've been there for a long time. They aren't going to leave, and even though their history spans longer than the city it's self, things are just getting started. The Mathias werewolf pack, and the Isline vampire coven have just recently made themselves a peace treaty. No one knows how long its going to last, and even if it will last. The Baltimore Syndicate members are becoming so greedy in their lust for domination that they chose to ignore the rise of members in the Lolea clan. The hunters are getting restless too. Everyone feels a shift in their world, and are slowly reacting to it. Even if only subconciously. It'll all come to a stopping hault soon, but no one knows who's going to end up the victor. Even if there is going to be a victor.
