Natalie Mauney ([info]idealisticpanda) wrote in [info]rp_tutorials,
I've been in two games that did monthly plot posts. They highlight any gamewide plots that are ongoing or coming up and then players are encouraged to post comments for their individual comments about plots they'd like to try/pursue and future plotting for the upcoming gamewide events.

We also used to do Free-for-all Friday's where the mods posted memes for characters to respond to in character and other characters could then comment on those responses. The last game responded really well to OST building memes both for characters and the game.

There was a game a while back I was in that did a timeskip to help bring in new blood. If I remember correctly a lot went into that option though (revamping the pages/layout, tweaking the premise to take in the amount of time being skipped, like the game went from a bunch of families dealing with being sequestered to a single island for a sponsored program to that program being shut down and all the residents spreading out across the country) From what I saw it seemed to work to some degree since it was sort of like giving the game a fresh start.
