I've recently decided to try to make my own graphics, icons, etc but unfortunately I'm completely clueless how to start. Would anyone be able to suggest a program ( Photoshop or others) that would be easy for a beginner to graphic making like me to learn? Perferably one that isnt too expensive. Any available tutorials would be nice as well.

GIMP is free and awesome -- I used to use it for everything before my computer stopped getting along with it. There are some great tutorials and helpful people at gimp_users on LJ.

I use Paint.NET now, which is also free and more intuitive than GIMP (if you can use MSPaint, you can use Paint.NET), but has fewer cool features. It's great and simple for iconning, though. :)

	Are there any simple tutorials for icon making using Pixlr. It seems as if it should be easy to do but I don't know where to begin. (Reply to this) (Parent)
