hi! i have a question involving aim. how do you get the buddylist to load if it opens in notepad? i'm lost and head usually just gives me one giant headache.

Right click the file, go to Open With... and select your instant messaging program. You may have browse to find it in your programs folder on your hard drive. Also, make sure the check box "Always use this program to open files of this type" is checked so you don't have to do this ever again. :)

This is just for Windows, though. Just realized you might be on a Mac. If so, I have no idea. :/
