whats the best way to make icons? i have photoshop elements, and i try making icons there, but they never turn out the way i want them too. are their any tips and/or suggestions?

But as [info]english just said, the cropping is a BIG factor.

that's really helpful, but i'm using photoshop elements and some of the things aren't labeled the same.
