I don't think you should or have to wait. Your character is your character and the pb that best represents them shouldn't be impacted by the death of the actor no matter how recent. And if the actor of your pb dies then that's the way it is. That's life. People die.
Now if it's celeb stuff where you are playing the actual actor and he/she dies irl then...you're sort of out of luck there.
