Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Hopefully someone here has the answer to this. I have an icon journal and I am thinking that it may be easier for me to maintain if I just turn it into a community but there are already quite a few posts in there and one of them is a resource post which a few different communities have linked to so I don't want to lose any of that. Does anyone here know if I convert the account to an asylum if I'll lose the entries previously posted or if they'll remain in the journal?

"Please note that once you convert a personal journal to an asylum, you cannot change it back. Before proceeding to the next step, make sure that the journal (for your new asylum) has no journal entries." From the FAQs. I'd guess it either erases them or just won't work.

My suggestion would be to create a new asylum, x-post all your old entries (post a preview of the icons, then a fake-cut back to the old journal? or just repost the entry in its entirety?) Repost your resource post, and on the old post, edit it so that it links to the new one?

I may do that. Thanks for the info. I probably should have gone to the FAQ but I always get lost in there for some reason. Bermuda triangle of IJ I guess.

The FAQs are REALLY poorly organized, I don't blame you!
