[It takes him most of the day to come to terms with this. The hotel was already a familiar experience when Harry was 18, so it pretty easy to figure out where to place the blame. Aside from the fact that his phone is a nicer edition than he remembes owning, and the date is all wrong, he doesn't notice anything at first. Varied voicemails from lawyers confirm his father's recent and accidental death, which is news that Harry takes surprisingly well. There is grief, but its healthy. He makes appointments to settle legal affairs and ultimately turns to the journals. All of his prior conversations are missing, talk about a fresh start.]

Anyone around?

[ LOCKED to Gwen S ]
Thanks for the card, condolences mean alot right now.

[Later added & locked to Felicia H, after looking into matters.]
I assume you have all of my father's affairs in order?

I don't know. I assume since before I arrived here. He's been dead for a few months, Harry, don't you remember?

Tomorrow morning, 9:30 AM.

[The morning after the spree, with news outlets just beginning to pick up the story, Felicia Hardy strolled into the Oscorp lobby after a rather harrowing subway ride. (Thank you, winter, for ruining the MTA. Thank you, Elsa-lite, for gifting the East Coast with such a wonderful season.) While she was slightly annoyed underneath, she was the same collected, quiet woman the company at large knew. There was that slink, though, brimming underneath the surface if someone decided to look close enough. No one did, of course. No, Felicia Hardy was nothing but a woman who stumbled her way to the top of the company because a couple of misguided men took a fancy to her.

Oh, if only they knew.

Despite the commute, she was still riding high on the loot stashed away in her apartment and getting away clean last night. She was making daddy proud, and a small part of her hoped that he was out there somewhere to see her hijinks. To see her doing better that him. It filled her with a sort of pride that she used to feel in school when she excelled in classes or topped at tournaments. Only better. To think about the piles of jewels at home gave her a thrill that nothing else could really compare to.

She was here though in Oscorp HQ, and she took the elevator to the top floor. Her desk was adjacent to the CEO office where Harry Osborn should be waiting, and after she dropped off her purse and winter coat and situated herself, she strolled over to the door with a tentative knock.] Harry? [Her voice echoed through the door. Blonde hair was twisted up and away from her face, a lush red curled up her mouth, and a sleek black dress hugged her curves.]

[Harry wasn't late, which was probably a miracle in itself. In addition, the fact that he was also not hungover made for some exemplary CEO conduct. After a long, sleepless night, he'd decided to get to Oscorp before anybody else. It seemed like the easiest way to dodge any and all of the questions that were likely to arise from his sudden, slightly more youthful return. Harry had no idea and no way to judge how things had been running at Oscorp since(and before) his father's death. Despite not knowing much about Felicia, Harry felt that she might be a trustworthy confidant in these unstable first days. As an assistant, Felicia would at least have a basic understanding of Oscorp and Harry's current standing in the company. He couldn't imagine that a couple of years could make that large of a difference in his appearance(Aside from minor details, Gwen had looked relatively unchanged by time). Even with that confidence and a polished suit tailored just so, Harry wanted to get to Oscorp before anyone else, just to avoid any awkward encounter that he might not yet be briefed for.

Of course, some scientists were already in their labs, but that made them easy to avoid. The security guards were making the rounds or in their offices with eyes pinned to feeds broadcast across high definition screens. Harry made it to the top floor without having to engage with anyone, like he wanted.

His first day in charge of Oscorp. It felt strange to walk into the office where the walls were windows, his familiarity of the place never being one of ownership until now. The sun was coming up, its glow breaking like a wave around the other buildings on the New York skyline. He'd always found his father's CEO office to be pretentious, all glass and chrome, heralding images of science fiction in the way that the office at home(cedar and old world opulence) never did.

But now, in the light of a new dawn, Harry found himself less critical of the polished layout. After all, it was his now, and maybe ownership made all the difference. He was still getting acquainted when that knock sounded on the door.] Come in. [He responded, and then gave himself a spin on the wheels of the plush black chair that sat behind his new desk.]

[Felicia opened the door and slipped inside of Harry's office in one smooth move. The door closed behind her with a quiet click, and she stood tall in front of it.] Mr. Osborn. [A warm, almost seductive greeting that no one else in the company really got to see.] Good morning. [She strode over to his desk where he was spinning, and she smirked as she saw the innocent youthfulness in the boy. So much lighter than the man she had known.] How are you doing today? Do you need anything?

[The glass door was smooth, hinges constructed of metal but quiet as the movement of silk. Harry Osborn, freshfaced youth off the cover of GQ magazine, sat at his desk. He was the high school daydream, mouth cocked to one side, boyish dimple on the right side, deep like a shadow. His hair was lightened without being overstated, spring bits of honey that mixed in with the traditional auburn of Osborn youth. Some of that hair hung into his eyes, fashionably young. It was too early for him to feel self-conscious about his appearance, too ignorant of what all of the newspapers and blogs and whistle blowers were going to say. He looks too young, he's not ready, he'll never make it, he's not a CEO, and he certainly is not his father.

The desk was an electronic testament of modern science. Essentially a computer screen. A swipe of his hand brought up files, pictures, videos of biological and chemical advances that occurred here, in Oscorp, in the kingdom that his father built for the future of America.

Harry sat there, sipping coffee(because he thought it made him seem more adult, even if it was Starbucks in a recycled paper cup). He'd been in the office and reading for awhile. Most of it wasn't up to his understanding, but it was fascinating. Harry Osborn was a quick study, he'd never done poorly in school, even if he'd never been top of the class. He was the son of a scientific genius, and more learning came from his father than ever came from highschool. And now, in the aftermath of his father's unfortunate passing, Harry was taking the learning into his own hands.

Mr. Osborn.]

Oh! [Proof of inexperience, Harry blinked up with the kind of blue eyes and agreeable smile that dropped panties on most Saturday nights. But this wasn't a Saturday night, and Harry was just nervous enough about this first work day to recorrect his smile. He brought it down a notch, with lips pressed and seascape eyes that widened at the good morning, or maybe the seductive greeting. His smile flickered, a little more familiar, natural in the presence of a gorgeous face.]

I'm doing great, Miss Hardy. Just getting acquainted with... [A hand gesture across the computerized desk.] All of this. [He considered the desk with a tilt of his head, and then lifted an eyebrow to the assistant.] I'd love some insight, a brochure, a Welcome to Running a Multi-Billion Dollar Corporation coloring book.. [Cue the boyish, and endearingly aware of the fact that he was likely over his head smile.]

[Harry hadn't been this young when she knew him. He was young, absolutely, but there was a weight on his shoulders that aged him at least another five years. The youth here was charming, if a little worrisome to now have a multi-billion dollar enterprise shoved into his lap. Felicia had heard the whispers, after all. Board members, news outlets, financial analysts, everyone in the know who had some sort of investment in the Oscorp fortune and the company itself. Certainly, Harry hadn't heard it; Felicia had the feeling he practiced willful ignorance whenever it suited him best. And, she wasn't going to be the one to burst his bubble just yet.]

Sorry, but I don't think I've come across one of those yet. I'll keep looking though, just for you, sir. [She chuckled quietly, more for his sake than being amused, though she certainly was drawn to him. She had dated guys like him during her tenure in high school. Charming, very good looking, smart in their own ways. There was no arguing the fact that Harry Osborn was a handsome, charming young man, and sure, she'd done worse than flirt with her boss, even when he was a little younger than her. Making her way to his desk, she stood in front of it, one folder tucked in her arms. All of the files, of course, were in that computerized desk.] I would contact the people over at Stark Industries to see if they've made one for Tony Stark, but I'm betting you're above his coloring book level.

[Even without attending a single human resources meeting, without enduring the painful slide shows that depicted appropriate workplace behavior, Harry got the gist. His smile was undeterred, it was as part of his genetic code as the serum that still laid dormant(and unknown to Harry) in his body. Besides, it was impossible not to smile at Felicia. First meetings were meant to make acquaintance, and Harry knew that his father would have never brought the woman on board Oscorp if she wasn't capable. The fact that she was stunning was something else entirely, and it actually made Harry smile when he glanced down at his desk. He tried to imagine his father, brutish corporate god among men giving the third degree interview to a polite woman with her tasteful lipstick. Harry'd seen his father fire Ivy school graduates on a whim, for a misplaced word or an improper header on some document, for wearing a tie that beheld a garish pattern. The fact that Felicia was here meant that she'd stood her ground whether she knew it or not. Or maybe there was promise in Felicia Hardy yet unrealized. Harry was glad that there was at least somebody he could rely on here.

Beautiful assistant or not, Harry had never been a fawning school boy. He was steady blue eyes when Felicia crossed before his desk, and he considered her without a gaze that strayed any further south than the cut of her collar, the choice of color.

It was the mention of Stark Industries that made Harry cock his head, he leaned back in his chair and tongued his lip, thinking about what he'd once known and what may no longer be the case.] Did Oscorp and Stark Industries have a beneficial working arrangement? [Harry remembered his father detesting competition, and that especially pertained to Tony Stark. Of course, weirder truces have been made.]

[Felicia smoothed one of her hands over the front of her dress as green eyes slid over Harry's face, the slack of his posture, how young he was. She was used to working for his father, a cold, calculating genius that wanted only for his company to succeed and for the Osborn name to be equated with gold. She knew of the man who sent his son away instead of raising him. The man more focused on science and discovery than his family. She was then used to working with a different Harry. This one, somehow, seemed less damaged, and she suspected that might have something to do with the memory loss he was suffering.

She was sure, though, that working for Harry Osborn wouldn't be the same as working with his father. Not that she hated the man, of course. But it was clear: Harry was not Norman. No iteration of the young man was.

She chuckled and smiled, shaking her head.] No, it was always contentious, honestly. You know your father didn't like competition. But for a short time we had Pepper Potts working here, and I'm sure there's still some threads if you'd want to start something. [Leaning on the desk, a natural sort of curve into the electronic masterpiece, she slid her hand over it, which popped open her access channel. Her access, of course, was nothing compared to the CEO across the table, but it was something. She pulled up Pepper Potts's file, a short thing as she wasn't employed very long before she left.] Or we can just keep separate. That would probably be what your father wanted. I don't think he was a big fan of Tony Stark. [Not that she would really know. She'd mostly gleaned so far, but then again, she probably knew more than the man sitting across from her.]

[Harry would be nineteen next month. Nineteen year old kid with a two hundred billion dollar company. He knew what the investors thought, what the corporate board thought. They thought that his father must have lost his mind to have made such legal arrangements. Harry also knew that some of Oscorp's projects while under the oversight of his father weren't exactly legal. Maybe that was Harry's insurance, the reason that those other board members swallowed their tongues and said very little when Harry sat at the head of the table. They'd try to find a way to kick him out eventually, with that much money at stake, they would see it as a reasonable sacrifice. But Harry had plans to formulate his own insurance one day soon.]

Do you know why Pepper Pots left Oscorp after such a short amount of time? [Harry glanced down to consider the file that Felicia lit up with a swipe of her finger across his desk. Ms. Potts' picture gleamed, professional with a tight smile, and a list of her credentials spiraled down the other column.] It seems odd, doesn't it? [Either she was gathering competitive information or flippantly switching gears in her career. Pepper Potts, not that Harry admittedly know much of the woman aside from her little blips on CSNBC, didn't strike him as the type of woman who would do either. The woman was a professional, a jet-setter, and besides, weren't her and Tony like - married?

Harry was done with the file, and he swiped it away with his hand before looking up at Felicia again. Deep breath like a new day, wild youth blue eyes chasing the vision of his future.] What's on the agenda today? And, I know its still early, have you had breakfast yet?

No idea. [Felicia shook her head. She hadn't been in this New York, let alone employed when Pepper Potts was in her position of executive assistant. She shrugged, a slight roll of her shoulders, with a curve of her lips like she was mostly amused at the other pretty, prim woman that was smiling up at them from the electronic desk.] I'm going to assume all of this has to do with some Stark drama, of course. Whether that means the company or the man? [Another smile, and another shrug.] Nothing's come of it yet, and it's been a little while since she's worked here. They're either working on a slow, slow, slow burn, or there's nothing there. [After a moment of consideration.] I can see if we can look into it if you're concerned.

[She pulled out a piece of paper tucked in that folder. The agenda.] There's a board meeting at 11 to talk about current projects going on. [A laugh.] No, I didn't have the chance. The trains were terrible this morning. I was planning on grabbing something a little later. [Sliding the paper across the desk.] Did you?

No. [Shoulders drew back, and Harry leaned into the springs of his seat, exotic leather hissing pleasure beneath the shift of weight.] Stark Industries isn't my concern. We're separate companies with separate focus, there would be no reason for somebody like Pepper Potts to see what we were doing. The advances we make in science are in monthly magazines, and if there was something top secret, she wouldn't have had access to those kinds of top secret files. [He breathed in a sigh, it bordered amused.] Hell, I probably didn't either. Not until... [And the trail off in Harry's voice required no explanation. It was only after his father's death that Harry really began to understand all the sectors of Oscorp.

Harry glanced over the paper detailing the board meeting. The board expression on Harry's face clearly conveyed that the idea didn't strike his fancy. But his shoulders straightened back, and his posture righted just a bit like he was already getting ready.]

Is my tie straight? [He asked of the knotted silk, Prada blue, in case she might be able to correct it for him.]

You know.. [He offered with a lift of his chin and that halfway smile prone to digging a single dimple in, charming.] We have time until 11. I could order us something in. [He didn't suggest it was her job, although his father surely would have. Harry was still getting the hang of being in charge of things.]

Good. [She agreed that Stark was the least of their concerns, even with the wayward connections. And if something came of them? She would take care of it before it blossomed into a massive problem. She was good at that, nipping things in the butt. And for a boss like Harry, it would be a lot easier to motivate herself to do so. The sigh drew a knowing sort of smile from the woman leaning on the desk across from him. She had lost her father around the same age, and she had been devastated herself. There was no balm to the loss of a parent at such a young age in the words of another. Only finding your own ways to cope. Like, for example, picking up the tiny hobby of robbing things. Oops.]

I can cover for you if you're really going to be that bored. [A laugh, something warm and almost affectionate before she eyed his tie.] Oh, you're hopeless, Mr. Osborn. [Instead of leaning over the massive desk more, she placed the folder on the surface and walked the circumference to where his leather chair rested. Because, yes, his tie was askew, but also because she might want to press his buttons just a little. With slow, deft fingers, she reached forward and adjusted his tie just so.]

Is that an order, Mr. Osborn? [Her hand continued to adjust his tie for a moment before fingers slid down the silk, slid down his chest until the edge of his tie (which she flicked up playfully) before withdrawing all together.] I guess I can move some things in my schedule if it is. [She casually leaned her hip against his desk.] Besides, we'll have to prepare you for the meeting.

[Harry wanted to do right by his father, which meant doing right through Oscorp. As much love as he had for the father who never loved him, Harry understood the global importance of Oscorp. Two hundred billion dollars, stocks, jobs, medical and scientific discoveries. Genome projects and cloning advances. Nobody else in the world was doing what Oscorp was doing, or at least not as well. Their biggest competitor was Stark Industries, but Stark developed technology energy sources primarily, the two corporations were a Venn Diagram with limited that met in the middle.

Harry was still getting over the loss of his father, what some people were saying about him. What some of his friends were saying about Harry. Mary Jane Watson still narrowed her beautiful green eyes and hissed Harry a murderer. Harry? There wasn't any way in hell that he would ever hurt his friends, and certainly not a girl that he'd once believed himself in love with. Of course, that was high school. Harry was growing up, and MJ's ignorance cast toward him was making it easier and easier to forget her. Time healed all.]

No. [Handsome face screwed with distaste.] You don't have to cover for me. I'll be here. [And then his expression softened, sincere, he wanted Felicia to know I'm here for the company. I'm going to come in early and stay late and... I was be everything my father was, I will build this corporation stronger. [His playful smile twitched with a partial wink.] And you'll be by my side.

[Somehow, it caught him off guard when Felicia came in close to straighten his tie. Harry leaned back into the leather of his seat, tailored slacks with tight thighs unthinkingly splayed. The tie was corrected while Harry drew a slow breath, admiring the movements of her pale hands, the way she never looked up at him. The fair hair and cheekbones and slight tilt of her head as she considered the precise angle for his necktie to reside.

When she flicked the tie with a note of playfulness, it was the first time he moved. Might have been the first time his heart remembered to beat. He drew a deep breath and nodded, the blue winter of his eyes following her when she stood to lean against the desk.

As much as he wanted to delay the meeting, Harry tongued his lower lip and ran his thumb across digital screen of his desk.] I can have the girls from downstairs bring up some bagels, coffee. What do you like? What do you like? Donuts? Smoked Salmon? Caviar?

[Felicia smiled down at him, confidence in him and warmth, and she knew that while this young man had a warmer heart than his father, that wouldn't deter him from being a great leader. In fact, it might work in everyone's favor that Harry wasn't his father. Sure, scientific genius might have been different coming from a different man, but change was good. And Felicia had faith that he would try his hardest not to tarnish his father's legacy. To only further it. And maybe, just maybe, Felicia Hardy had a little more fondness for the younger Osborn.

No blush found her cheeks as he looked at her, just the tiniest smirk awarded. She was used to men eyeing her; in fact, she loved it. Some attention from her handsome boss wouldn't distract her too much. Hip jutting out to lean against his desk, she laughed at his outlandish suggestions.] Caviar this early? You wouldn't want to break the bank, sir. [A shake of her head.] Bagels and coffee are more than enough. Unless you need to look after your figure, Mr. Osborn, to charm all those girls.

[Harry's fingers were long and smooth, destined for piano in another life, but now finding purpose in strokes of varied screens, flips of file pages, the fingering of suit lapels and silk ties, the unsnapping of garters, and the tender cupping of slender necks. Harry hadn't had a callous since the age of six, when he'd determined to ride his new bike(bought with his own money, as his father thought such trinkets useless when chauffeurs were present). There were many wrecks, many skinned knees, callouses from meeting city concrete, scraped in blood.

One day, when older boys cornered Harry(ignorant or just jealous of his heritage), they beat Harry and tried to steal his bike. During the race home, he bent one of the tires, and while walking the bicycle up the drive, he'd cried to his father about what had happened.

Even still, this was one of Harry's most vivid childhood memories. When his father withdrew a tire iron from the garage and approached Harry's bike. Norman beat the metal into an unrecognizable piece of junk while Harry stood on, sniffling past the refusal of tears. 'That,' his father had said while heaving with breath, tossing the tire iron to the ground, 'If what happens when you don't take care of your things.'

Harry hadn't bothered with bikes after that, or any toys for that matter. He focused on school and the occasional friend, the silent house, and when he got older, he focused on his father's bourbon, on girls, on drugs to pass the time.

And his hands stayed clean, smooth, privileged. Those fingers drummed the desk edge, so near where Felicia's hip was cocked into the smooth edge. He smirked at the possibility of breaking his bank, and he shook his head at the offer of bagels.]

I don't charm many girls these days. Just an espresso will be fine.
