Avengers Mansion: Kevin S/Wanda M

[The Mansion was starting to show more signs of being inhabited than it had when Wanda first arrived to find the lights out and the grounds almost overgrown. There still weren't as many of them there as there used to be, but it was starting to feel more like home with the rest of the Avengers periodically visiting, and Jess living there with her.

It was still strange how quiet things were here. There had been the Invasion before she arrived, and the toxin, but it was nothing like what she was used to in her own world. Even if she did include the rescue missions to other doors (something she couldn't partake in if powers went haywire in places other than home) and the attack on Stark Tower, the half dozen other little things that didn't require a full team response, it was still easier than what it had been like where she and the others had come from.

Mostly. Puppies were a welcome change from Billy turning into anyone, which only served to remind her of Skrulls, and Jess, and the mess the toxin had made of her thoughts. Not even the beautiful October day had been enough to keep her from retracing those dark memories. But puppies? Puppies did it. And a young man with a sense of humor that seemed to only want to make people happy.

It was so easy to let him. Still, it would take him a while to get here if he was coming from Xavier's, and the day was still too nice to head inside yet. She stretched her legs out on the rejuvenated lawn chair, jeans rolled up her calves and closed her eyes. If he came by the front door, she could hear him, or if he opted to fly up, he could land out here. Either way -- she'd know. Her bare toes curled in the air, arms crossed beneath her head.]

Avengers Mansion: Kevin S/Wanda M

[Kevin wasn't young. He was too old, too old to act the way that he did, but he seemed to get less mature with age. Amazingly. He lost too many people that he loved, led to the death of enemies, helped his companions grieve...the world was a dark, dark place, and he was determined not to take it seriously and drag himself and everyone else down. He'd had moments of being broken, and he was not proud of them.

[So there would be no talk of how terrible this potential impending party could be. Every day was terrible, if you let it be. He'd rather focus on the good things, like puppies. And maybe, just maybe, he was starting to nurture a little crush on his friend's mother. At least this version of her. Despite maturity, Kevin was age appropriate.

[It did take him a while to get there, but once he had he shifted into the natural choice for a flying dog. He would never be a fast flyer...more like a slow levitation...but he descended into the Mansion with a dramatic call.] There's no need to fear, Underdog is here!
