Quicklog: Donna T/Felicity S
[Donna was still getting the hang of this place, and she had yet to try out any of the other doors. There was plenty to see here; she went from Gotham to Gateway City to Themyscira and back again already. She was used to world jumping, more used to it than she'd really like, so the idea of sticking to one universe sounded good to her. She gave Felicity the address of Clyde's so she could pop by when she felt up to it. Donna felt a great deal of sympathy for people who were new to the concept of superheroes and the confusion that followed them. Plus if she worked for a version of Oliver Queen, well that was interesting. But apparently he just went by Arrow now? Interesting.

She was comfortably sitting at the end of the bar on a stool, drinking a local beer on tap, and looking over her tablet. She always stood out a little in Gotham; she was a little too well put together. There was a sleek and squeaky clean aspect to her that never quite got into the grit of the rest of the city. Black hair was loose over her shoulders, and she had already politely but firmly rejected a dozen advances since arriving. Donna had a list of things she'd eventually like to get done, but that was only going to grow by the day, and this beer was really, really necessary. She pulled up some of the newest news reports from Gotham and frowned, cycling through them. Her head lifted every once and awhile to look toward the door in case Felicity showed up. She didn't know much about the other woman, but hopefully she'd stand out being a newcomer to Gotham too.]

[Gotham was darker, drearier, and dirtier than Starling and was going to take some getting used to, but this was what she was going to call home for the foreseeable future, and Felicity figured she needed to make the best of it. And that meant making friends. So far so good.

She was dressed in the usual, upmarket, professional office wear, maybe a little darker in color than what she would normally choose, but she still stuck out like a sore thumb with her blonde hair up in it's ponytail and signature painted red lips (as if she could choose any other color). She knew enough from the short conversation who to look for when she arrived at the bar and slid onto the bar stool next to her and flagged down the bartender.] Glass of the house wine. White, please.

[She glanced at the woman next to her out of the corner of her eye, sure it was who she was here to see, but not wanting to assume.] Nice place.

[Felicity was easy to spot for that exact reason, because very few tourists or non-natives were in Gotham these days. It wasn't exactly what one would call a vacation spot. It was amazing anyone stayed, except the citizens were stubborn and accustomed to their way of life. She knew from years of working with the Batfamily that no matter how irrational it was, they didn't give up on their city.

She smiled at Felicity when she came over and offered her hand.] Donna, and yes, I like it. A little dive-y, but it suits the area. Plus it has retro arcade games somewhere in here, or so Eddie said. [Donna wasn't really the type to enjoy those, but she had a lot of friends who were. Dick included, although she hadn't managed to glue him down to one spot yet. Too much going on.] So you come from Star ... Starling city? [It was a quick adjustment, since she'd been confused about the name when she first saw it. Star City was replaced by it and seemed otherwise the same.]

[Shaking the offered hand, Felicity took a couple of deep breaths and was immediately at ease. She was beginning to think that this move to Gotham, while unexpected, wasn't such a bad idea after all. Well really, it all remained to be seen, especially with her odd and unexpected living arrangements, but she had high hopes.] Felicity. Retro is good. Nothing has to be taken too seriously. [She had never been good with the small talk thing, but for this, she was going to try.

Taking the question into consideration, she nodded.] Couple days new to Gotham, but yes, Oliver and I come from Starling City. It was his idea to pack up shop and relocate because the action is here. So much of this ... [She made a random wild gesture with her hand.] ... Difficult to understand.

[Different names, different timelines, door, versions of people. She was still waiting for the day when she was going to meet a new version of herself.]

Nice to meet you. I'd say welcome to the area, but I'm not actually a native, so I don't think I can do that officially. [Donna was good at small talk. She hadn't been in the beginning, all those years ago as a teenager coming to the mainland for the first time. She knew nothing of men or modern culture. Her team taught her well, as a group of teen nerds could only do. Plus there was about twenty versions of her, but that was a story for another day. Or a lot of wine.]

Gotham has more trouble than it knows what to do with, at least that's the same every version I've seen. I know all of you helped during the take over, right? [Donna was rushing around so much she didn't have time to sit still and talk to anyone. She only gave preliminary attention to the goings on. She didn't know a Felicity from Oliver's past.] I know it's a headache. I'd say it gets easier, but I don't feel like that's comforting. Who wants to get used to this sort of thing?

[Her smile was warm and her eyes direct. The Amazons were not a subtle people.] Let's head over to a booth. More leg room. [And they could talk about the hotel and other private things better. She got the sense no one talked about it much around here.]

A welcome from a non-native is better than no welcome at all. [Felicity, with her computers which were often isolating at best and her mouth that tended to run away with itself and spout a lot of nonsense and things that most people didn't say outloud, didn't always find it easy to fit in and so she tended to appreciate anybody who tried to accept her as she was.] I'm assuming by take over, you mean the recent mission thing or whatever that was. Oliver did some and I was a bit on the outside, but mostly it was handled by the others. Maybe we'll be of more use next time. Especially now that we're here.

[Picking up her wine glass, Felicity nodded and pointed in the direction and of empty booth and headed in that direction, sliding in on one side, she put her glass down and her handbag next to her.] Easy does not feel comforting, unfortunately. Not much does, so getting used to it doesn't seem possible. You've been aware of it longer than I have, I assume?
