Re: Xavier's School: Jean and Wanda
Perhaps, in a different time, when she wasn't feeling quite so out of sorts and the Avengers needed her, she would have come only to ensure that Jean was okay before leaving. Not now. Now she needed somewhere safe, somewhere that wasn't a lonely garden where days could pass without her awareness of them.
Here would be good. It wasn't too far and it wasn't too close. And if it felt weird to not have Charles here, at least they had one another. "It's up here," she said with a slow curl of lips. It was the same room that had briefly taken on the appearance of a rustic French apartment, but she had returned it to its previous state before she had left the last time.
"Charles let me stay while he was here," she explained as she mounted the stairs. "It was good to get away from the city." A vacation really. "And people kept coming and going - there were two other men here but I don't know if they still are. Anyway. No one ever had the room next to mine." Not even when there seemed to be so many of them that tripping over one another was a guarantee rather than an accident. There were far fewer of them now - both Avengers and X-Men.
