Welcome to Vancouver, BC!
Vancouver, one of the world's most spectacular cities, is an exciting, bustling environment, and recently welcomed the world as host city of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Chosen as the 'most livable city' in 2011, Vancouver offers its residents beautiful homes, outstanding opportunities for outdoor adventure, exciting job opportunities, and the sophisticated amenities of a world-class city.
The game: This community will focus highly on journal commentary, in-character instant messaging, and character interaction of all forms. It is essential that you remain active with your character, and it is probable that all characters in-game will run into each other at some point along the way. Please read our rules to be aware of the level of activity that is required for this community. We look forward to writing with you!

In the beginning, there was only the Creator. And She created the world; its lands and seas, peoples and beasts. She created the Keeper, to rule over the dead. She gave the world to her people, whom She loved dearly, to do with what they would. The people multiplied, forming their cultures and societies, and were faithful to the Creator. And when there were many, the Creator made the Watchers: lesser deities to watch her people and report. You see, there are simply too many people for the Creator to keep track of, too many prayers to answer. The Watchers watch, and tell Her what her creations need.
But they speak in His ear, too.
She gave the Watchers free will, and perhaps that was Her greatest mistake. Not every Watcher is good. Not every prayer is answered by the Creator. The Keeper speaks to the Watchers, too, and He does not want for good in the realm of the living. He wants only to rule all, with the death of all things.
You, the player, are a Watcher, and the choice is up to you. Will you do good or evil? Which prayers will you answer? Which side are you on?

Sometimes the world you create on the page seems more friendly and alive than the world you actually live in.
Since the dawn of time, storytellers have enchanted audiences with their words. But there is an even rarer gift. There are those who, by reading out loud, can bring characters to life. Out of books and into our world. Most of these people prefer to keep their skills a secret but some do not even know this gift is theirs, until it is too late.
You know how your story begins, do you know how it ends?

We at Spinning Compass allow character development from any game. From Insane Journal? Approved! From Live Journal? Approved! From Dreamwidth? Approved! It doesn't matter what journal format they come from, your character will be approved!
We also accept Original Characters, Alternate Universe characters, and any canon fandom characters.
Character approval pending application acceptability.
Books are adventure! They contain murder and mayhem and passion. They love anyone who opens them. |
