Things are tense at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Rumors of Voldemort's return are being whispered amongst the students, voices hushed and nervous as the latest bit of information makes the rounds. Fear has settled heavily on many shoulders, quickly bringing uncertainty and mistrust to an already divided school. Who belongs to which side? Are there spies amongst the students? What will happen next, who will die next? Can anything be done?

The school may be safe from the outside wizarding world, but are the students safe from each other? The generations-long battle between the houses hasn't gotten better, and current tensions have done nothing but elevate the rivalries to a new level. To make matters worse, an anonymous group of four girls have stepped things up, creating a vicious gossip paper that periodically and sporadically details information about their fellow students. Details that only close friends would know. Details that no one is ever happy about having shared with the entire student body.

It's called Bavardage. No one knows who publishes it, or how information is gathered for it. The only certain thing about it is that it is another source of trouble and uncertainty. With the teachers seemingly unable to stop new issues from going out and the issues getting progressively nastier and revealing more secrets, the last, thin threads of trust amongst the houses are fraying quickly. Friendships are being challenged and broken, and new, dangerous liaisons are being built.

The general consensus is that the girls must be stopped: but how? The purebloods are getting snobbier every year, the halfbloods are losing recognition for their minds and intellect and the muggleborns are treated as welfare cases on scholarship from the British Prime Minister. The whole student body is stuck in a downward spiral, trapped by an endless ring of rumors and lies. Libel and slander are not punishable, but instead encouraged. There's nothing more important than bringing down anyone suspected of being responsible for Bavardage. People are getting hurt, and not just by the paper. With no one able to trust anyone else and constant fights breaking out, the search for the guilty is getting nowhere extremely fast.

There's war brewing, and not just outside of Hogwarts. Somewhere within the castle that is supposed to be one of the few safe refuges left in the wizarding world, four girls are playing a dangerous game with their fellow students. Will the school collapse onto itself, or will the youth of the wizarding world be able to band together and overcome the fear, distrust, and rivalries that are threatening to tear Hogwarts apart?

Beyond RPG ; DC Alternate Universe [10 Oct 2008|11:10am]

Premise
In 2040, super powers have become rare, for reasons that the experts argue about; and those who have them generally don't go into the costumed criminal/costumed adventurer route. On the whole, society is prosperous and happy, and the various attacks from forces unknown that had been predicted for the new Millennium on the whole never materialized – but the ones that did become true to their predicted prophecies have turned out to be, or at least appeared to be, less catastrophic.

Things change though…

Criminal activity is on the rise, and there is a growing conflict between traditional superheroes; such as Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman… the Justice League, and a growing population of largely amoral and dangerously irresponsible new vigilantes. Without the moral compass provided by Superman and his generation, there is little or no distinction between heroes and villains. Metahumans battle openly in the streets without true cause, concern for collateral damage, or innocent passers-by.

Like a phoenix rising from its’ own ashes, the Justice League has once again assembled to return order to chaos. Unlike their predecessors, this new league rising, albeit share the same values, have a different means of handing out justice.

The world is ready for a new age of Heroes.

JUSTICE LEAGUE: BEYOND

Ever want to save the world?

Kapow! is a rpg based on a simple concept; Superheroes. And supervillains too, I guess. They'd probably send a nasty letter if we left them out, wouldn't they?

A new RPG looking for members, Kapow! is a place full of crack-filled fun for the most part. Superheroes, supervillains, and even civilians are needed! Although Kapow! is predominantly driven by social-interaction between characters, there will be specific plots every so often which affect the whole community.

Come and join us in a world of utility belts and freeze-rays, product placements on jet-packs and earth-quake machines.

The Marked
Premise | Taken | Held | Rules | Application
What makes a person good? What makes them evil? Is it their actions, or do ends justify means? Is it something that is at the core of every person? Are you born one way or the other? Is there truly a right and wrong side to every thing? What even defines "good" or "evil"? Is it inherent or is it something forced upon us? Perhaps it is simply the sum of everything we're faced with.

What side would you find yourself on if everything you'd ever known was stripped away? What happens when your world has been reset and all you have are your memories of the life you've been taken from? What if you discovered you were just a pawn in some bigger player's game? Would you change? Would you join forces with a serial killer or turn your back on a hero to get to the bottom of a problem bigger than you? Or would you do nothing at all?

The Marked is a multi-fandom game, meaning almost all fandoms are welcomed here whether they're books, movies, or television series. Unlike most of the multi-fandom games around here, we endorse canon portrayals of your favorite characters and we also provide a working plot for you and your characters to participate in.

A brand new supernatural game set around a fictional town. Now accepting holds!
Game Premise
Game Links
Supernatural creatures have always hidden in the shadows to avoid detection from the far more numerous humans. Most of the creatures have moved around to avoid detection and, thus, haven't been able to live anything resembling a normal life. An individual in the the small town of Arton Bay, Oregon noticed this fact.

Arton Bay was the home to The Club, a spacious 3-story building that had essentially gone to waste. The Club had closed in 1960, but in 1971 a wealthy individual purchased it and reopened with the supernatural in mind. Since then, The Club has been an unspoken haven for any supernatural creatures wanting a retreat from the questioning of the outside world. Still going strong in 2008, The Club allows and caters to any creature willing not to maim others on club property. Arton Bay, as a whole, also seems to be going strong despite the influx of supernatural creatures. Aside from the occasional question what an "Extra" Bloody Mary is, the locals ignore the quirks of The Club and passing tourists don't seem to suspect a thing.

[info]the_club via [info]the_owner is a supernatural game taking place in the fictional Arton Bay, Oregon. We're now looking to cast a strong central group of players for a fun game.

We'd especially like a "bad guy" or two who don't necessarily agree with The Club's rules and a few people who are The Club's security and enforce the rules.
