Giving a half-nod, Judith looked back at him. "You're doin' a bang up job so far," she teased in good nature. "I been workin' on the chimera thing for a little while. They ain't easy to track and they're even harder to take down, since they tend to run in packs. Surprised that one that was havin' at you was by himself, honestly, but it worked in my favor, all the same. And yours, really."
At his question, she shrugged. "I don't know, maybe go back home to Georgia," she said casually. "I ain't smart enough to go to college or nothin', but California ain't really a good fit for a Southern girl."
