It's really quite jarring to be in the middle of a boring investigation of a not-very-active rift and then suddenly be uprooted and tossed somewhere. It's not the first such time she's been tossed places--though it has been so far as this rift's activity--but that hardly makes it pleasant. It's worse than the Dimension Cannon, really. At least with that she'd been able to prepare herself every time (and the landings had sometimes been decent.

In this case, she's just...yanked up without warning, jerked around a bit, and spat out with a flash of light and a thunderclap. More importantly: it dropped her a few feet and had her rolling rather uncomfortably across a street. Lovely, really.

She hates random rift travel.

She groans and pushes up to her feet, rubbing her head. "Ow." She blinks...frowns, and sighs. "M'still in Cardiff?"

Obi-Wan Kenobi had been staying in accommodations provided by Torchwood. He hadn't had much opportunity to explore the facility, but he found himself with a free afternoon and headed down to the sublevels.

Obi-Wan was not aware of how much time passed while he knelt on the floor of his cage. His mind was connected to the Force, and he reached out within it for hours or maybe days, looking for the ebb and flow of life and technology and emotion. Looking for patterns. Looking for the blanks spaces he could slip through.

It took time to find them. Suzie and Jim were thorough and careful, but they weren't perfect and they didn't really know what he was capable of. They weren't familiar with the Force. They didn't know what it allowed him to see.

It was late at night when he opened the door of his cell, his hood up, and moved quietly, undetected through the halls. He crawled through an upper window, jumping easily to the ground three stories below and landing lightly on his feet. He looked back, up at the hulking shape of the building, then faded away into the dark.

Reality shifted, he felt like he was falling. Disoriented, he stumbled, dropping to the ground. The permacrete felt strange under his hands. The air smelled weird. He reached out through the Force... and felt nothing familiar. He could feel the ebb and flow of the Force through everything around him, but all of it was foreign. He'd been many places throughout the Republic in his life: this was none of them.

He pushed himself to his feet, gathering his cloak around him, trying to get his bearings.
