Lily was a little more amused than he'd probably appreciate by his gentlemanly gallantry, though she did manage to keep her smile to herself as she rose once he'd pulled the chair out. "Thank you," she replied politely as she slipped her shoes back on before she moved away from the table.
She smoothed her dress down again as she started with him toward the exit. The dinner had been pleasant, and she was admittedly pleased there'd been no attempt to define or label the outing. It certainly made things less stressful on her. Someday, she supposed, she'd be ready to let go and admit they were dating, but ... not yet. It was still too soon.
"To the beach then?" she inquired once they'd stepped outside.
