"Fair enough," she agreed to his proposal. "But next time, I'm bringing a knapsack," she pointed out. It would have made more sense for this time, too, but she genuinely hadn't been thinking that far ahead. Nor did she have a knapsack, but by the next time, they'd be able to acquire one.
She smiled and nudged his side lightly as they walked. "Should I? Is that how it goes? Maybe I'd like to plan the next five in advance," she teased him. "Besides, who said anything about it being a date? It's just ... something to do." That was how she'd meant it anyway. Activities to do while they were hanging out. Such as it was. "Though I suppose if you want to call everything we do together a date, I would be fine with that."
Maybe it was simply because she didn't have much experience in the dating field that she wasn't sure what to actually consider a date. Really, she'd only dated-dated James, and his ideas of dates were ... well, showing her off, she supposed. Fancy restaurants and things like that.
