WHO: Lily and Severus (and anybody else out and about so early?)
WHEN: Sunday morning, bright and early
WHERE: Cabin 13, initially
WHAT: They're going hiking.
RATING: Medium for snogging and lots of innuendo
STATUS: Complete
It had been years since Severus had donned a pair of jeans, and it didn't take him long at all to remember why. They were tight and binding and felt very restrictive when compared to the flowing wizard's robes he usually wore. And while those were fine for a walk around the Hogwarts grounds or a stroll through the Forbidden Forest, he imagined a hike called for something a bit more safe. Because he didn't want to take a tumble and show Lily his underpants again today. That one time in fifth year had been quite enough. Even if ... well, no. He probably shouldn't be letting her see his pants under any circumstances. Best to get that thought right out of his head.
His boots were the ones he usually wore. Sturdy, with plenty of support for his ankles, since they were fairly delicate, but comfortable enough that being on his feet to brew for ten hour stretches had never fazed him. A plain white button up shirt -- long-sleeved, of course, in spite of the weather, because he didn't relish showing her his Dark Mark, either -- completed the ensemble, and he was ready to hike. Or as ready as he would ever be. Hiking wasn't something he would normally do by choice, but he would have been hard pressed to turn down the opportunity to spend any time at all with his Lily. And the prospect of spending the entire day with her was delightful.
He knocked on her cabin door at five to seven, quietly, so as not to disturb her roommates, if they weren't early risers. Some people did get a bit tetchy about being woken before they were damned good and ready. He had always been a morning person as a rule, however, in spite of the rumors at Hogwarts that he was part vampire. Since the previous evening had gone so very well, this morning, he felt much less nervous. Therefore, his hands weren't clasped behind his back, even if he still wasn't quite certain what to do with them. In the end, he decided to stuff them into the pockets of his jeans, lest he be tempted to wrap Lily in a hug the second he saw her. That ... wouldn't be a good idea. Because he more than likely wouldn't want to let go. Ever.
