He grinned over at Marian when Heather spoke of the closing prayer, reading the immense impatience in her eyes. He could sympathise, but he was also glad that this was being done properly.
He clasped Marian's hand gently when Heather placed them together, after the prayer, returning Heather's beaming grin. All right, he was glad it was being done properly but he was ready to say forget the rest and just kiss her.
And then, as Heather finished her prayer, there were the words he had been waiting for. Turning to Marian, he slipped an arm around her shoulders, the other resting against her arm as he pulled her closer, finally kissing her.
