From the moment that he had entered the gift shop, El Wray hadn't been sure what would occur between the two of them. He had obviously wanted to have a conversation with Cherry, especially what had ultimately happened in their own world. Maybe he should have been more sensitive with their first contact at the resort, but then again, that wasn't exactly how he worked. Ever since he could remember, El Wray enjoyed pretending that everything was perfectly the same. It saved the trouble from anyone getting hurt emotionally from whatever event that might unfold between himself and another. Honestly, he thought that was something that he showed straight forward. He thought that she knew as well without any verbal words of the subject. Was there really a need to have that conversation? Well, he certainly hoped that it wouldn't come up because of the damn truth thing that was hanging around the entire resort.
Once his words were spoken, he kept a straight face. Emotionless. It was exactly how he acted all the time. Most of the time though, El Wray never really thought before any words escaped from his lips. It usually occurred around Cherry, however, he was sure she could handle that. Well, she kept coming back around him or they ended up running into each other one way or another, so wasn't that the case?
It was almost like a magnetic field was in the air as their eyes simply gazed into each other, no matter how how dark each other's looks were. That was just normal for El Wray of how dark his looks were. Maybe it wasn't noticable by their actions towards another or how he responded to anything that she might say or point out, but he cared for her. Hell, El Wray loved Cherry. It was just the small fact that he had refused to let any of those hidden feelings out. Wasn't it enough that he showed her in a physical form of exactly how he felt? After all those times, it would become apparent, right?
As her gunleg had become pointed in his direction, El Wray didn't flinch, nor did he move. He knew Cherry well enough to know that not a shell would be aimed directly on any of his body. The memory of dying would most likely be still fresh within her mind, so that was another reason that no gun wounds would appear anywhere upon his body. Maybe an inch or two to the left there would be, coming in contact with the wall...but that was whole other store. However, as Cherry emerged from behind the counter with every intention of smacking him, that wasn't unexpected. As the flesh came in contact with his skin, he could hear the echo of the impact throughout the room. It wasn't something that he wanted others to see, even if he deserved it, but the people within the gift shop weren't there in his mind.
"Is that out of your system yet?" he asked, returning his dark gaze back at the woman after rounding his jaw just slightly. It had actually stung. He knew how hard his girl could hit, such an action really wasn't the first time either. "If not, I have another side that's feeling a bit left out." That was almost the extent of their public affection without tearing each other's clothes off.
