The stuck out tongue got a laugh, not surprisingly. He'd been expecting it sure, but that didn't make it any less funny. "No kidding," he said lightly in response, shutting the door quite happily as soon as she was inside. Cold was an understatement. More like freezing. That thought made him feel kind of old. Or was that paranoid? Easier to just dismiss it completely.
He took her coat once she had it off, hanging it up for her. "Hot chocolate's ready to warm you up, as promised." He preceded her in to the kitchen as he said it. Had this all been a stupid, foolish, ridiculous idea? He hadn't missed the ring when she'd pulled her mittens off. Should he have given her that? He'd completely forgotten about it, in his three year absence. Had found the bag full of Tiffany's...stuff, in his room just before Christmas. He'd never given anything like that to Jeanne. Then again, he'd given her the words he had never been able to say to Heather.
