It was a good day. Well it was okay. It was windy and a bit colder than Ember really liked it and she had a bit of a headache from being at the bar last night, but it was two days after a win and she was still riding that high. And despite the chill in the air, the sun was out and she didn't have anywhere she needed to be that day. It was a good day.
It was a bit late for breakfast, but she'd stopped by the Leaky anyhow because if you needed to cure a hangover, a greasy breakfast was the only solution. Sporting her sunglasses and a hooded sweatshirt and looking like a bit of a mess, though no more than usual, she took a spot in a corner table and put her head down for a minute. The door swung open and in her bleary-eyed state she could've sworn it was Meaghan. Ember sat up straight immediately, in time to see the bloke follow Meghan to a table on the otherside, blocked from Emb's view. Second time inside a week she thought she'd seen her mum in London of all places. At first she'd brushed it off as improbable. But this...
She couldn't see from where she was sitting and she definitely couldn't hear what the conversation was. Well that wasn't going to work. No. She'd have to get closer. She hadn't even gotten her food yet, but this was more important. Well it was close to as important...
There was a bloke. She needed to know the dirt.
Grabbing a copy of the Prophet off a table she headed over, shielding her face and looking for a place to stage the stakeout. Sliding into a seat, she glanced over her shoulder at her mum's table. Still not close enough, it wasn't a good angle. So she got up and moved into a nearby booth close enough to hear what happening a couple tables over but not so close as to be conspicuous. Of course, she hadn't noticed the blonde sitting across from her at first.
