Malachi walked back over to the table and set the potion in front of her. It was her choice whether she took it or not and he wasn't going to press the issue any longer. She could ignore and carry on suffering or she could take it and feel better. Her choice.
"Can we cut down trees without getting in trouble?" he asked, looking uncertain. After what was going on with Lavender the last thing he wanted to do was get in trouble with the council for some reason. He felt this was a punishment for something even if that something was just complaining about not having the memories someone else did. And while they were punishing her, they were punishing him and Evie as well. It wasn't their fault either. They hadn't complained and asked for memories they didn't have; they had done nothing. He'd stayed clear of the council since he got here, just wanting to get on with this life the best he could. Some of it was for Evie's sake, some of it for his own, and some of it was for Lavender.
