Cormac could see he was getting to her. He didn't care much. He was angry. No, he was enraged. The prick had said something that was inexcusable. No, it wasn't Katie's fault, but she was still the one who got the whole thing started. She wasn't even giving him a reason to forgive her yet.
"Lost your bearings?" he echoed with disbelief. He shook his head angrily. "That's... fucking weak, Katie. What the hell happened anyway? How the hell did you two get on the subject of me? I'm not a topic for discussion!"
He looked at her, a little arrogantly, like he knew he'd hurt her and wanted to. He'd rarely used this angry and coldness towards her in the past, but she'd never deserved it either. Now she did. Now he would. She just had to deal with it. "He... implied," he said carefully, his voice still edgy and angered, "that my father abused me."
