For some reason, simply hearing those two words from Sirius was an enormous relief, as though he'd been holding his breath and waiting for the confirmation. Because he'd thought, but he hadn't wanted to assume...and that uncertainty had driven him up to this point.
When Sirius came near and placed his hands on his shoulders, Remus looked back at him directly, listening intently, a part of him feeling almost predatory. "What if we do the second," he suggested with a slight smile, "and I promise not to remotely consider escape. I somehow don't think it'd be necessary." He preferred to just sort of forget his previous mistaken actions.
