Summary: An unlikely pair run into an unlikely situation. In short: it's the full moon.
Status: Complete
His third full moon since being brought to the village. It was a little hard to believe that he'd been here so long. Remus was simultaneously excited and anxious for the night ahead. For the first time, he'd be able to fully enjoy this night with one of his mates. He'd taken the last dose of the Wolsfbane potion before leaving the cottage, which had left a distinctly unpleasant aftertaste in his mouth. Still, it was absolutely worth it. And he was glad whatever it was that had changed him seemed to have changed him back. He'd harbored some concerns over transforming in his older state.
But overall, he was quite excited. His anxiety came from the bit he hadn't told Sirius, which was that he'd been lucid during his last transformation, certainly, but it had also been the first time he'd ever really felt like a wolf. He had learned very early on that it was easier to let himself sort of blackout when he transformed. It had never been him doing anything; it was always 'the wolf.' Now, they were one and the same and he realised there was a difference between denying it and controlling it. It would just take some getting used to. He figured having Sirius around would help him keep things in perspective.
The pair of them were walking along one of the paths leading deeper into the woods, the sun almost set above them. He was wandless, wearing trousers and a loose-fitting shirt, buttoned halfway as usual. His rucksack for his clothes was slung over his shoulder and his gait was relaxed, more fluid than normal. He glanced over at his friend. "D'you reckon we should stick to the forest, or did you want to try our luck exploring this whole place? I'm not as opposed to the idea if you're around."
