Hogwarts Paintings

[info]requisites
[info]reqmagic

Level: Post Hogwarts Intermediate
Subject: Hogwarts Magic

Hogwarts paintings are practically full-fledged Beings. They speak and interact, not just with the humans in the castle but even with each other. These portraits were not created by the subjects themselves, but by an artist who created the painting during their life. The process includes a specific "imprinting" period where the subject occasionally visits the portrait to impart memories and other personality traits to the portrait. The artist cannot take credit for portraits that interact and display complex personality traits — it depends on the magical power of the person in the painting. ~ Lexicon

Game Canon
+ Single portraits have more personality than group portraits.
+ Single portraits can form their own memories & opinions
+ Painting subjects can jump from portrait to portrait
+ Frames can be silenced - not the subject in particular.
+ Paintings are protected with a ward to prevent jinxes

+ Stairs lead up to the 7th floor
+ Older students likely know the trick steps well

[info]reqmagic

Level: Advanced Creature Magic
Subject: CoMC & Hogwarts Magic

House-elves have their own brand of magic that only they have access to, as do many other magical creatures. The upper limits of Elf magic are not known, however, it is incredibly versatile and allows them to perform very powerful magic. They are often underestimated however because of their small stature. Their loyalty also prevents them from using magic against their masters until they are free. ~ Wikia

Game Canon
+ House elves are not free at Hogwarts
+ They are rarely seen by students & staff
+ They clean up common rooms, classrooms, and corridors magically
+ They are kept in the basement kitchens out of sight.
+ There are about 50 house elves at Hogwarts total.
+ They have names like Tippet, Lilypad, Podswoddle, and more.

+ Expand for more

Network Structure: Witches and Wizards would purchase a journal and then magically link their journals to those of friends and family members using what are called, Network Brands. These brands are unique symbols that connect journals to other users with the same networking brand. A user can have multiple networking brands in their personal journal to give them access to various groups of people. These journals collect a "feed" of various journal entries from the user's networks in which they can read, comment, and interact with.
