Republic City References

Once the Earth Empire was defeated, Avatar Korra went through the new Spirit Portal to explore with her girlfriend Asami. That was a year ago now. The year is 175AG, and ever since Korra returned a few days later, people have been turning up through the portal. Strange people, from different worlds. No one knows how or why. Or even how to send them home. As walking through the portal just sends them to the Spirit World. These displaced people have had no choice but to try to build new lives here.
