Re: Facility: Gwen & Jason
He said he was assigned to guard her, and she sat heavily on the cheery bed. The room itself wasn't anything much, but she'd tried to get people in the facility to bring her things which made it homey (or what television programming taught her homey was). There were a lot of people in the facility that had nothing to do with the Dragon - cleaning crew, scientists, pharmaceutical reps, office people, military people - and they were really super willing to help someone who was young and stuck living inside all the time. Too, Gwen knew that she wasn't the only girl stuck inside. There was the girl she'd tried to help, and there was Nora. She didn't know that first girl (Melody) at all, but she and Nora shared some scientists, so she knew Nora in passing.
But his statement that he was sent to guard her, it made her heart sink. His subsequent reiteration that he knew it was her on the train was met with fingers fidget-folded in her lap, and her head bowed. He was only faced with a crown of blonde when he said he needed her to inform him who let her out.
She believed in what she was doing at the facility. She believed in using what she'd inadvertently stumbled on to help people live better and longer lives, and she thought she owed it to the girl that was her unwilling donor. Gwen had no personal goals or aspirations, because she knew she wouldn't live a long time. Even if her cells didn't degrade, the testing hurt a lot sometimes, and she knew it would just escalate as time went on. But she wanted to be able to see the world a little, and she comprehended that she was absolutely about to lose that ability.
"No one helped me. I found my own way out," she said firmly, and she looked up and regarded the masked enforcer with cornflower eyes that only watered slightly at the corners. "I just wanted to see what a train ride was like."
