Re: Log: Cisco/Mary at the Ranger Station
"If they ever reboot Jurassic Park, you need to play Ian Malcolm. You have the whole vibe." She put two fingers up, connecting her thumbs to make a tiny screen in front of her. And, she was hoping he'd take that as a compliment. But, then again, how could anyone take being Jeff Goldblum the wrong way?
He sneezed. "Bless you." She smiled and the chuff sound he made was like little Red from back home. When her and Red went on a hunt for the Queen's guards and one of them was very fond of smoking his pipe. Easier to track, she'd say, but absolute torture for me. Mary hadn't made the connection right then, though, too busy being in ranger-face-of-the-park mode.
"I think there might seriously be something here." She set the bag of bread down behind her on the table and crossed her arms. "And, it wasn't cash, apparently, it was jewels. Just a giant chest full of jewels like a fantasy novel." Mary grinned. She was used to pretending that dragons and swords and dwarfs mining jewels were all cartoons and fantasy. But, there was something in her eyes that sparkled, too. A child of adventure.
She tilted her head at him. "So, how much time does the humble baker spend out in the woods?" Which was a not-so subtle way of asking how he'd be able to tell if a billionaire was stashing money out in the woods. Mary would let him get away with generalizing and lying if he wanted, but it didn't keep her from asking.
