Re: Registration Table: Jason + Angie
They hadn't started firing their weapons yet, which was interesting. That probably meant they were for show, to threaten the pair with when they caught up with them. They didn't want a quick death in a hail of gunfire, they wanted to use the threat of arms to get the pair of them somewhere they could take their time. Great.
"You're somebody, sister," he said, still at a flat sprint. His time with the League hadn't been entirely for nothing. He'd learned better than at any time in his life how to melt into a shadow and completely disappear. That wasn't going to be possible in full sight of the mob, though.
He chanced a look back, made eye contact with one of the men. Was that - no. Then he disappeared into the crowd, and Jason couldn't see him anymore.
He didn't like this. "Me? Nah. I was a boy scout."
Running at top speed, looking back for that face he recognized in the crowd, Jason almost ran both of them off the edge of a ridge. He spotted it in time to pedal to a stop, keeping a hard grip on her to keep her from going over. "Whoa! Whoa there." They could break left or right, but down - down would be faster. "You can, run, but you might end up going head over feet, so I'd slide if I were you." He flashed her a grin, despite everything. Was he having fun? Adrenaline junkie to the end, apparently.
