He had no idea how long they ran, the pounding of their footsteps the only sound for some moments before finally, Liam slowed, winded from fleeing. Only then did he release the other man, fingers cramped from holding so tight, and fuck- that weight was still on his shoulders, dragging him down and making his back ache. But he pushed through it, didn't mention it, his concern more about the other man. "Are you okay?" he asked, the words more breathless than he would have liked (need to start those morning runs again, Liam). But he had to know. Had to know if he was injured, bleeding, broken.
At least, for the moment, things were calm, even if his shoulders were aching and his back throbbing from the weight. He leaned over, just slightly, hands against his knees, and yeah, that helped.
