This was the sort of interaction that Meredith needed. Upbeat and without the judgment that seemed to cloud her entire world. Maybe - just maybe - things might be getting better somehow. She could hope, at least, right?
The colors of the basket were bright, and Meredith couldn't stop looking at them for a long while, fingers running over the woven strands that made up the handle looped over her arm. She had missed this, missed the variety of colors, of sights, that made up the world around them. It was nothing she'd ever take for granted, she knew. Not again. Not anymore.
Innocent looking trees, indeed. She headed in that direction, easy steps and an easy pace, pleased with the weather and the company she had. "No, not really new," Meredith responded. "I've spent most of my time at the carnival. That's where I work. And live, for that matter. What about you?"
