Re: [No. 3: Iris & Sam]
It was the bruise ache that made Sam let go, and she was fucking surprised her sister could do any damage. But, yeah, Sam's wrists were red, fingers marked clear against her light skin, and she stared at those marks for a few seconds in the moon-window dark of the trailer's guts. Her breathing came faster as a result, and she had to blink her eyes a few times, and she had to bash her palm against her own temple a few times. Get herself back in the moment, yeah? And the slap of skin on skull did it, did a good job.
Sam could see the panic on Iris' face, and that yanked her back from the precipice she'd started to go over. Ok, they could do this. They could. They just needed to find a fucking PHONE. Maybe Sam thought Cris was Superman or something, but she honestly believed he could fix this, save them, whatever. Like it would only take ONE WORD and BAM, the fucking crowd would murmur and disperse, heads hung low and tails between their thighs.
"They won't take ME," Sam argued. If these bitches were here for Iris, for the things that happened while Iris was with HIM, then they wouldn't take anyone else, yeah? "I'm some fucking victim, yeah?" She said it angry, like being a victim was something foisted on her, a fucking mantle she wore unfuckingbidden. They'd pity her or something, look at her like she was some broken doll yanked off a fucking shelf. Some of them might leer, yeah? Some did. Like after HIM, when her face had been all over the fucking news. Like that, and some guys thought it was hot, and that made a hysterical little laugh threaten to bubble.
But, nah, nah, FUCK THAT. She was ok, yeah? She was ok, and she looked at Iris, who looked like she might pass out any fucking second. Sam swallowed thick and heavy, and she ultimately nodded as the voices grew louder around their ephemera haven. "We'll wait. If we need to, then I'll talk to them. And you can tell them how- how hurt you were. They'll get it, yeah? It'll be FINE." She said it stubborn firm. FIRM. This is what we're doing, and she tried to give Iris a reassuring and gappy grin.
