Re: Registration: Peter & Sunshine Fuck, how could he seem so young even when she couldn't have much of anything on him in terms of age? It was the smiley face on his nametag, that open expression. He reminded her of some of the kids that were in honors classes back in those few short years she wet to highschool. The school itself was shitty, but even in that neighborhood, there were still kids that were too smart to stay there and were doing their fucking best to get out. She'd gotten out too, just in a different way. She didn't know if she'd ever been as young as this guy seemed.
She could have been hostile, struck out at him just for those few details about him, tried to bring him some reality of the real world. But she was tired of always being that girl. So even though her cheek was still bruised beneath the rather skilled cover-up job she'd done, she actually smiled at him. It wasn't big, and it was obvious that it wasn't common, more a tightening of her lips than anything truly smile-like, not reaching to her eyes, but she made the effort.
And at his question, she pulled her hand out from the pocket of her outer layer of jacket, nametag held between two of her fingers. She flashed it in his direction, showing him the clearly printed 'Sunshine' on it. "That's me. For what it's worth." Which wasn't much, a very specific amount per hour or per request, whichever way someone was paying. But this kid didn't need to know that part, and she kept it behind her teeth.
