Re: Registration: Peter & Sunshine
A fucking egg hunt. What the fuck was she doing going to an egg hunt? It wasn't like the customers were going to stop coming just because someone in town thought it was a good idea to get everyone together to wander around in the dark. But a nametag had shown up in her trailer along with a postcard that showed a name. And shed been planning to ignore it entirely, stay in, do her job, but surprisingly there weren't any customers. She didn't know if they were being turned away for the night, or what the fuck was going on, but the entire place had been silent all day. A quiet night didn't sound all that bad to her, but the card had nearly shouted at her from where it sat on the tiny counter of what qualified as her kitchen. And she'd finally given in, just as the sun was starting to dip lower in the sky.
So she'd thrown on the cleanest clothes she could find, layered herself up so she wouldn't freeze her ass off, pulled the disaster of her hair (5 days out from an actual shampooing) into a ponytail, and set out for where that fucking card said the registration table would be.
The guy's name was Peter, and she had no idea who the fuck she was looking for, other than that. And as she walked in from the north side of town, she was almost hoping she wouldn't find the guy. For all she knew, he was some 60-something asshole that would know where she lived and what she did and would take it as permission and invitation to get gross with her at a fucking egg hunt. She might just cut someone's dick off, if that turned out to be true.
Hands shoved into her pockets, boots heavy on the street, she made her way closer to that table with her nametag in her pocket, looking for anyone that might be a 'Peter'. And maybe her eyebrows crawled their way up her face when she saw him - plaid shirt, fresh faced, and not at all what she expected from this town. But still...
"Peter's a common name. Who're you waiting for?" She didn't say hello, didn't introduce herself, just started talking once she'd walked right up to him. If he wasn't the right one, she could turn right around and head back to the trailer.
