“I'm sure you will be,” he told her. He gave a smile. It was a little more prominent than the ghostly echoes of the expression he'd been giving earlier. He also would remember her username. It was simple, he would very much keep it in mind. If nothing else, it would mean he could contact her, not that he knew what he would come up with to say. He believe she shouldn't talk to him a whole lot, but selfishly wanted to talk to her more.
Maybe if it was over the freenet, it would be less likely to get either of them in trouble. It was worth a shot.
He stilled when he heard something up the street, and he wasn't sure what it might be. A shambler? A guard for the library? Another raider? He had no idea but it shot tension through his frame. His eyes stayed locked on the area there, before he chanced a quick look back to her. “See you soon,” he repeated back, nodding. He opened his mouth as if to say more, but heard the sound again, and he sighed, aware he was unarmed. And it sounded like a zombie to him, or maybe a couple.
“You'll be playing your dad's guitar in no time,” he promised, and then started to quickly and quietly move away, more than able to navigate without drawing any attention to himself via noise, and it didn't take him long to disappear, either, finding shadows to drift into.
He looked back though, before he did make a loud racket, seeing a few zombies around the building. It got their attention and he took off running, to lead them away from her – even if she was safely inside.
