It had admittedly been a while since she'd had this kind of contact with someone before. In fact -- funnily enough, the last person she could think of who'd held her like this, kissed her even, had been Josh. Before her freshman year had ended, before the world had fallen apart. It had never gotten serious, but it had been something that they'd had together.
And that counted for something, didn't it? It was the reason why she'd wanted to keep in contact with him once the dust had settled and most of the gas had left Austin. She'd needed to know he was safe, that at least someone she'd had before was okay.
She smiled back up at him, her breathing coming out a little quicker now that she was pressed up against him. Olivia didn't see any reason why she ought to let go of him for now, and for once neither Andrea Salazar nor the guy who'd killed her weren't creeping up in her thoughts, ready to sour her mood and plunge her into another bit of sadness. "Just to thank you for everything." That was a bit vague, and it sounded trivial even to her ears, but she didn't have the vocabulary to express how much this trip out with Josh meant to her. "This has probably been the highlight of my month, if you want the truth."
