Marina was never one for coddling or heart-to-hearts so she was glad that Noa didn't press the issue any further. They'd talked their business and shared a drink, and for her, that was good enough.
She drained her own glass, exhaling slowly as the liquor burned her throat, before standing and setting her glass on the counter next to Noa's. "Sorry I couldn't be of more help. We're all in uncharted water here. Guess I'll see you later?"
With a weak smile and a wave, she watched Noa go then turned back to her empty trailer, left with her vodka and her thoughts.
