The icy voice of Willa Thompson floated over the loud speaker inside the lab, reaching the ears of the people in white coats and gas masks but falling dead on the only thing in the room that wasn't technically still alive. The flesh eater they'd caught and strapped to the table thrashed around and bit at the air like a rabid dog, straining stiff muscles and limbs against its bindings every time one of the lab coats moved closer to it. One whiff of fresh, human blood and these undead creatures went batshit, it was morbidly fascinating to her. How could something so very dead want something so much?
Even with all her thirst for power and personal satisfaction, she couldn't relate to the thing on the table before her, separated by a thick wall of glass. She was still too wary of consequences. Too calculating to be so careless. If death was the price, she wasn't willing to pay it. She never wanted to end up looking like one of these things. Willa wrinkled her nose in disgust, eyes narrowed and finger nails tapping against her own arm as she watched with arms crossed on the other side of the glass. She never went in unless she had to. She'd rather watch from out here.
This lab hadn't always been occupied by flesh eaters. At some point there had been reincarnates. Well, ones who had still been breathing. In the very early stages of the end, the Resistance had been attempting to reverse that abomination of a cure the American government had come up with. That's how the virus had started, and from there? It did nothing but spread. Most of the West Coast was in ruins. From what they'd been hearing, so was the rest of North America. Maybe even most parts of the world by now. There were no more governments, what remained of the Resistance were the only ones left in power. They were the Alliance, and they had a mission.
Find a cure for these flesh eaters, and force the remaining humans to kneel before them in order to get a taste of it. People desperate to have their loved ones back, or just not to turn into one themselves. Real world domination was in their favor, they only need find the cure and reach out to take it. Willa observed coldly from her sanctuary, as sadistic and emotionless as she had been when there were reincarnates on that table. Even people she knew. They were so close now.
A higher charge of electricity surged through the flesh eater's decaying form and it barely uttered a sound outside of its normal snarling, and Willa smirked, speaking to someone behind her. "What do you think? Another round of injections before we move onto the final stage?"
