Tristan looked to Jo as she closed up the last box and shrank it down, adding it to her bag. He didn't quite know what to do, didn't quite know what to say as she took the folder containing their annulment papers and closed it, tucking it away as well.

"Take care of yourself, Josephine," he said quietly, and then she was gone, apparating away with a pop that seemed to echo in the quiet house. She didn't have much here, so it hadn't taken her long to have her things together and the house cleared of her presence.

Sighing, Tristan raked his fingers through his hair, hand coming up to tug his tie loose. He moved to his study and poured himself a brandy then sank into his chair. It had already been a difficult week- after finding out about Gideon's passing, he had gone to the funeral but stayed only briefly before returning home. Work had been difficult as he had understandably been distracted, and today had been the first that he'd seen Josephine since the elections.

He wasn't sure how long he sat there before he moved from his seat, straightening his tie and pulling his jacket on before apparating. The cemetery was quiet, the sun setting over the horizon as he found the markers- they were small, simple stones with his wife's name and a simple "Baby Abbott." He knelt, clearing weeds by hand- he found the action comforting. He set a few flowers down, orchids, Elizabeth's favorites, and then sat back.

"I miss you both," he started, his voice quiet and a little gruff. "I'm sorry that it's been so long."
