Where Finn’s House (she is currently living with her brother)
What Ginnifer invites Merry over for Dinner to bond.

Ginnifer had laid out her cards when it came to Merry Goshawk. She had invited the girl over for Dinner and tea to try and get to know the other female. Ginnifer wanted what was best for her brother, a quality that she was quite sure that her brother shared regarding herself. Her House Elf, Ely, was hard at work making sure that everything was cleaned and polished before her mistress returned home to prepare for Merry’s arrival. Dinner was almost ready by the time 6’o clock rolled around.

Ginnifer had already refreshed herself after returning home from work and had some quiet time for herself when Ely came up to inform her that Merry had arrived. Opening her eyes, the youngest Rowle made her way out of her bedroom and towards the main hall. “Miss Goshawk, I am pleased to see you.” A genuine smile was on her lips. “May I get you anything to drink before we head into the dining room?”

Contrary to popular belief, Merry did know how to behave in proper pureblood society. Her mother was a Travers, after all; she'd spent her childhood learning the ins and outs of manners.

She just wasn't very good at actually using that knowledge.

Still, tonight, she knew she had to try. Finn might appreciate her quirks, but she wasn't convinced that Finn's family would.

She'd gone straight home from work to change into something suitable for meeting your boyfriend's sister, realized she didn't have any really good options in her closet, debated Flooing her mum, decided she'd rather show up naked than resort to that, and finally gotten dressed with mere minutes to spare before she was expected. Arriving late was a bad idea.

Ginnifer's smiled greeting, however, seemed genuine, and that was enough to set some of her nervousness at ease. Some of it. "Hello," she said, trying very hard not to be awkward about it. "I am too. Thank you for the invitation?" Err. That wasn't supposed to come out like a question. Fuck. At least she hadn't actually said 'fuck' aloud. "A water would be, um, good. Thanks."
