Along with the following note was tea, biscuits, and this mug.
Bethanie,
Though it is not always the practice, it is my belief that parents should love their childre unconditionally. Mine did not, but my aunt and uncle do. Even my 'uncles' seem to, and they are not related to any of us by blood.
I do not know if what you wrote in your journal was a way of making sense of your family, or if you are researching for a show. If it is the latter, then please simply enjoy the tea and biscuits. If it is the former, then please know that you are better than how they make you feel. Your opinions and happiness matter. I am, perhaps, the worst person to talk about this, but I am starting to see it. Not in you. I've always known you are wonderful. You cared about everyone around you. You looked out for us younger students. You are a ray of light for many people.
I know that hearing or reading things like this doesn't mean much until you believe it, and I know that believing it on an emotional, and not just intellectual, level will take time and a lot of effort. Maybe a lot of time, too...
You are the product of your family, but you are not their puppet, and you deserve all happiness.
