Ginny probably should have worn a coat. She heard her mother in the back of her head telling her so, but she shoved her gloved hands into her pockets and pushed on. She could ignore the cold. It was mind over matter, anyway, and she knew there would be a crush of bodies once she reached Diagon Ally would have her warmed up in no time. She was surprised there weren't more people on the streets on the Muggle side, but her watch and her stomach told her it was lunch time. The smart people were in the cafes having hot food. She was wandering the streets on her way to her brothers' shop.
On her way through the Leaky, Ginny picked up food for her and George. She felt she should check on her brothers to make sure none of the others would fly off the handle and hex someone who said something about her the way Ron had. She didn't expect them to, but you never could tell with her brothers. Sometimes they were sensible human beings. Other times, they were Neanderthals.
As the bricks behind the pub opened to reveal the alley, Ginny smiled. She still got a rush from that, knowing that a whole world stood behind London. Skipping down the cobblestones, she ignored the glances she got from some of the witches lining the street outside the shops. She knew what they were thinking, and the hatred and jealousy written on their faces was obvious. They thought she'd, somehow, stolen Marcus Flint from them. She rolled her eyes and kept her head held high, showing them she didn't care. She pushed into Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes and found the twin she was looking for in the work room. "I come bearing food! It means you have to take a break and talk to me." She grinned and plopped the bag with sandwiches and soup in front of him. It was both a bribe and a trap.
