Who: Ashleigh Spinnet and Terence Higgs.
What: Lunch.
Where: The Ministry, then Media Cafe, Broadcasting House, Portland Place, London.
When: Tuesday 6th September, lunchtime.
In an empty bathroom, Ashleigh applied a little fresh blush to her cheeks. She didn't usually wear much make-up to work - just enough to pass as professional - but she'd been wearing more lately. Concealer to hide the bags under her eyes, blusher to give her a more natural colour. If anyone in her department had noticed anything off, they hadn't said so. Higgs, though, would probably be looking out, because Higgs had reason to be aware that Ashleigh might be exhausting herself. She hoped it wouldn't occur to him, but he wasn't stupid. He had to know Alicia wouldn't have taken the news well, and he had to know that if anyone was looking after her, Ashleigh was the most likely person. Satisfied that she looked well-rested, even if she wasn't, Ashleigh walked briskly along to Higgs' desk.
She arrived, of course, right on time, carrying a magically chilled back with a thermos of coffee and two pots of leftover salmon and roasted vegetable salad. If Higgs wanted tea, he could buy that himself. "Are you ready?" she asked, with no preamble. She expected that he would be ready, because Higgs was good like that, and they both had a limited amount of time to get out and talk and get back to their desks. (Ashleigh suspected Roger would cover for her if she was a bit late, which was a strange feeling.) "We need to apparate." Ashleigh didn't want to eat in the Ministry, and the drizzle outside limited their options. The BBC's Media Cafe, as a governmentally-funded building, had to let them in and wouldn't complain if they didn't buy anything. Besides which, it was likely to be quiet at this time of day. Ashleigh had already changed out of robes and into a smart-casual blouse and skirt.
