Lydia was thankful more and more every day that Higgs had opened her eyes to adopting a dog. By doing so, it led her to Westley who happened to be, in her humble opinion, the most wonderful dog in all the universe. He gave her a reason to go out for a run when she didn't feel motivated and knew how to make her laugh when she had a bad day. Sure George make her laugh too, but there was something special between a dog and their owner, and she loved it.
They were just beginning to start on one of those walks, they hadn't even made it out of the Alley before Westley started acting up. She never put him on the leash right away as he usually stayed next to her in the Alley, which was her first mistake. After going down the stairs and stepping out into the fresh air she did the usual look down towards her boyfriend's store. She was well aware she never saw George but it never stopped her from looking either.
Then she heard Westley bark and when she looked over he was running over to someone. Mentally yelling at herself she chased after her dog, "Westley, no!" she shouted before she could get to him. "I'm so sorry," she quickly apologized as she grabbed the little dog and picked him up. This wasn't like him and she didn't know what gotten into him. Once he stopped squirming she looked to see who it was that her dog had bothered. Bloody hell it was Gilderoy Lockhart, of course that's who it had to be. As a booknerd she of course was well aware of the books he had written and had read every single one of them. She didn't like to say she was a diehard fan but his books were always very interesting. However something about him always struck her as odd that she couldn't quite place.
"Mr. Lockhart, oh Merlin I'm so sorry. He's usually so much better than this. He's still young though so puppy tendencies comes out every once in a while," running her free hand through her hair she quickly looked him up and down for any damage, "You are okay?"
