Wednesdays were pretty much the same as most of Roger's other work days. Mostly it was just floating about and looking like he had any idea what he was doing. Today was probably actually better than others because there had been a more feasible task than just signing papers. Not that Roger was particularly sure what it had been but his boss seemed rather pleased with what Roger had done, so that was new. Obviously once five pm came, Roger clocked out, because like fuck was he going to stay and work overtime, especially not when no one was there to tell him to do so. Besides, he had needed to go to bank and run some errands anyway, maybe pick up some food for dinner.
Dealing with the goblins at the bank was never particularly fun and on top of everything else it was absolutely pouring it down in Diagon Alley that evening. Roger's umbrella was getting utterly battered and he pulled it in closer, which only partially obscured his vision (but it did keep his fucking hair dry). This was why he ended up not just bumping into someone, but rather successfully tripping both himself and the other person over, only just about managing to stop them both from falling as he reached out to pull the girl in closer. It was rather helpful that she was so slim (and so in reach).
"Sorry," Roger offered, moving his umbrella so it'd protect her from the downpour, too. Not that he thought it would be particularly successful since she was already drenched. "Not quite the day for a lovely walk," he added offering the girl a grin, doing a pretty good just at acting like his arm wasn't still wrapped around her waist and her body probably uncomfortably close to a stranger's one.
