It felt like a really long time since Higgs had just sat around and had lunch with Alicia. Perhaps it wasn't actually that long, but with work being extra busy lately, Higgs felt like they hadn't had as much time to spend together. And then Pippa had been ill, which hadn't helped either, since Higgs had ended up sitting around St Mungo's for a while just hoping she'd be okay. There was also the house he was building with Marcus, which was coming closer and closer to being ready for furnishing, but that also meant that Higgs had to find furniture. Thankfully, the women in his life seemed more than happy to advise him on those choices.
There were plenty of things going on in Higgs' life that didn't involve his wife, which was both odd and at times rewarding. It felt wrong to think of it as such, but honestly, Higgs didn't really want all of his personal life to be Alicia. It hardly seemed healthy or productive. At least this way there was plenty they could talk about, things to share and explore.
Alicia saying that she might have found a therapist startled a small 'oh?' out of Higgs. What he really wanted to go with was 'that's fantastic!' but it seemed almost a touch too enthusiastic. He certainly thought she would benefit from having one, something he felt they might have discussed before, but showing a bit too much enthusiasm in the fact might have come across as odd. "How do you feel about seeing one?" Higgs asked carefully, as he spooned out some of the food onto a plate. Personally, he might think that it'd be good for Alicia, but if she didn't feel the same way, they could always discuss other possibilities, which, Higgs was sure, there had to be some.
