Andrew had his doubts about that, but he wasn't going to say so - even to Aisling. Things seemed to be going well, apart from the revision, so maybe he was good enough right now. He wanted to believe that Evan would have forgotten to come come over even if Andrew was the most amazing boyfriend in the history of the world, but he didn't. If he was that good, Evan would have come over, or Andrew would have known about his exams, or would just have gone over to find out what was wrong earlier. After all, what if Evan had been hurt and Andrew had waited hours to go find him? Instead, he smirked. "Well, he wants to see me in my suit, so I hope it looks as good as you think it will."
That had been exactly where the line of questioning had been leading. "Thanks." Honestly, Andrew might prefer to write, but it didn't seem very fair. He couldn't just tell his mum he was going away without giving her a chance to ask questions and satisfy herself that she was going to be alright. Andrew knew he'd freak out if she did the reverse to him. "It's a muggle hotel, right?" Presumably there was a wizarding area of New York City, what with it being such a huge urban centre, but Aisling's family were muggles and Andrew was assuming they'd picked the hotel. "So I can give her a phone number to ring in case-" Well, in case of what, Andrew didn't know. At least his mum would feel comfortable ringing a muggle hotel.
