MOTHER AND DAUGHTER REPORTEDLY STILL ALIVE - DEATH EATERS DEMAND TRADE

The mother and daughter kidnapped over the weekend from Diagon Alley by Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange are still alive, according to reports - and the only reason may be a trade.

Head Auror Rufus Scrimgeour confirmed yesterday afternoon that Andromeda Black Tonks and her daughter, Nymphadora, are still believed to be alive, though their conditions were unknown.

Scrimgeour went on to elude that Lestrange has demanded a trade, presumably for Amycus and Alecto Carrow, a brother and sister Death Eater pair that was recently convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to the Dementor's Kiss.

"This is blackmail, plain and simple," said Scrimgeour, "and we at the Ministry do not give in to these sorts of demands. If we let the Carrows go free, who knows how many more they'll slaughter? The likelihood of the Tonkses being alive and in any condition where they will survive is highly unlikely even if they are returned, and we will be releasing two of the most dangerous fugitives Azkaban holds for little more than corpses."

In his most chilling statement, Scrimgeour hinted that this may not be the end of it. "By doing this, You-Know-Who and the Death Eaters have openly declared war on the Wizarding World again, and we will not stand for it."
